MatchMaker role

Location: Edinburgh or Remote in Scotland

Have you always dreamed of being a matchmaker?

Due to increased demand of our services we are looking to hire a full time Matchmaker. 
Match Made in Scotland is Scotland’s one and only matchmaking agency, aiming to bring dating back into the real world. We want to take dating back to basics, away from the apps and sites, and back to a time when most people met their partners through an introduction by a mutual friend. This role will be at the very heart of that, helping eligible singles meet each other. 
Our clients don’t have the time nor the inclination to use online dating apps and would prefer to be introduced to potential matches who have been vetted by a professional matchmaker. It is your job to make the matching process run as smoothly as possible and to provide excellent customer service to our clients.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with business development skills and a large network to help shape the future of our business and met the needs of our growing list of clients. 
The person in this role will be responsible for consulting with clients, making appropriate matches and using their networking and business development skills to grow our client list. 
The business is undergoing a change as we try to grow and meet increasing demands. This will be an exciting time to join us and you will be expected to hit the ground running. 

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with an extensive network and ideally, strong interpersonal skills, a background in sales/ business development or a similar field and is able to demonstrate an ability to identify, approach and bring in potential clients to add to our membership. You will be a confident and strong networker, comfortable around people both in entry-level positions and directors and CEOs, who make the bulk of our client list. As a matchmaker, you will use your communication skills to take clients on their journey of finding ‘that special someone’. You will take them from the initial contact to a full consultation, where you will find more about what makes them tick in a relationship, through to the latter stages where you will introduce them to potential matches. Empathy and listening skills are a must for this role.

Minimum criteria:
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with flair and personality, both spoken and written.
  • Acts intuitively, with kindness, and empathy, and works with integrity and honesty.
  • Demonstrable business development experience and possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a large network.
  • Is a self-starter and can deliver without being micro-managed.Has excellent time management skills and is punctual and reliable.
  • Excels at grammar, spelling, and punctuation and is a word fanatic.Is fun, energetic, and confident.
  • Celebrates the wins – big or small – and enjoys the process as much as the outcome.
  • A great team player with excellent stakeholder management skills

Additional Criteria
It would be a bonus if you had any of the following skills or experience:
  • Event planning
  • Event hosting Skills
  • People Management Skills
  • Social Media ManagementContent Writing/Blog experience
  • Experience creating strategic and engaging marketing campaigns
  • Worked in the dating industry in some capacity

Main responsibilities

  • Builds clientele through email/text, marketing programs and networking. 
  • Hits monthly targets.Sells the service with ease, finesse and professionalism.
  • Researches our database regularly and recruits new clients.Identifies potential partners among our client databases.
  • Carrying out client consultations
  • Organising photoshoots and meetings with dating coaches
  • Writes witty, fun and captivating client profiles.Writes engaging, bubbly and professional emails.
  • Organises fun dates unique to the clients’ personalities (including all logistical requirements).
  • Reviews matchmaking questionnaires.
  • Manages a portfolio of clients.
  • Develops and maintains solid relationships with existing clients.
  • Additional administrative tasks as and when required by the business
  • Attending and hosting events.
